Rest to Reset: Are you?

You know that feeling you get after you “rested” but not really because what you did actually left you feeling you need more rest?

Well if you do, that means you didn’t actually rest to get to that point that you actually need to get to feel rested.

“Rest” in actuality is to reset your whole being.

But many of us think, feel, do, and believe quite the contrary!

Example:

  • some of us out here don’t even believe they deserve to rest because they haven’t done enough or not done everything they need to do (is this you?)

  • some of us engage in escapism or getaways from “stress” by doing activities that add to the existing level of stress (is this you?)

  • some of us “rest” by not doing anything or only one thing, over and over again and still feel stressed and tired, but changes nothing because there’s a set pattern and they simply just keep in that way (is this you?)

Ask yourself:

“What are my personal views about rest?”

“What do I think about rest?”

“How do I feel about rest?”

“What do I do to rest?”

That belief. That thought. That feeling.

That guides how you are feeling today and what actions you will take to help you feel rested- essentially recover, recenter, reset.

If what you’re doing isn’t bringing you back to a state of clarity and balance, then it is not true rest- it is just another form of burnout in disguise.

And if you're anywhere close to getting burnt out- do take time to reflect on what needs changing.

It might just be as deep as the beliefs and perceptions you have about yourself.

Go inward to journey well.

It matters. And in the depths of it all - YOU matter.
